About the role
Wealth planning at Victoria Wealth is the slow half of the business: succession structuring, family governance, insurance-funded liquidity and the awkward conversations about what happens to the family company when the founder stops turning up. Our clients are mostly first and second generation Hong Kong business families.
We are opening a part-time seat for a genuinely experienced planner. Three days a week, remote-first, with client meetings arranged around your availability and a standing team day at our Tsim Sha Tsui office once a month. This is aimed squarely at senior advisers who have stepped back from a full-time private banking schedule and have no interest in stepping back into one.
You would carry around 25 planning cases rather than a sales target. There is no product quota, no weekend roadshow, and no expectation that you answer a message at 11pm. What we do expect is depth: our families have heard the generic version of this advice already.
What you'll do
- Run wealth planning reviews for around 25 family relationships, covering succession, liquidity and asset protection.
- Prepare structuring options across trusts, holding companies and insurance solutions, working with external counsel.
- Facilitate family conversations on governance, next-generation involvement and business succession.
- Coordinate with the client's tax advisers on cross-border considerations for family members overseas.
- Document recommendations, suitability rationale and file notes to SFC and internal standards.
- Coach the private client associates on planning fundamentals during the monthly team day.
What we're looking for
- 6+ years in wealth planning, trust and estate advisory or private banking in Hong Kong.
- Sound working knowledge of Hong Kong succession law, probate practice and trust structures.
- CFP certification, or STEP membership, or an equivalent professional planning qualification.
- Native Cantonese with business English — the technical documents are English, the difficult conversations are not.
- Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business or a related discipline.
Nice to have
- Insurance intermediary registration for insurance-funded planning cases.
- Experience with cross-border families holding UK, Canadian or Australian assets.
- Prior work with family offices or family constitutions.
What you get
- Genuine three-day week with fixed, protected non-working days
- Remote-first, with one team day a month in Tsim Sha Tsui
- Pro-rated medical and dental cover for you and your children
- Pro-rated 18 days annual leave
- STEP and CFP continuing education fully funded
