Event Producer

About the role

Loudhailer's Live & Experiential unit works out of a production base near the West Kowloon waterfront, closer to the venues and the loading docks than to our Wan Chai office. Six of us, plus a bench of freelance crew we have used for years.

We produce around eleven events annually: brand launches, a two-day music-and-food festival on the harbourfront, pop-ups, and press events that have to run on a Tuesday morning without a single hitch. The producer we are replacing is emigrating, and she has left excellent documentation.

The person we want has stood in a car park at 5am counting truss sections and has also sat with a client's legal team over an indemnity clause. Both halves matter. If you have only ever done one of them, this will be a hard year.

What you'll do

• Produce four to six events a year end to end, from site survey and budget through to derig and reconciliation.
• Own budgets between HK$800,000 and HK$6M, reconciled within fourteen days of each event.
• Handle venue negotiation, licensing and permits — places of public entertainment, temporary structures, food licences, and marine or road closure applications where relevant.
• Build and enforce the risk assessment, crowd management plan and adverse-weather protocol, including the amber-rainstorm and T8 decision tree the client signs before build.
• Appoint and manage suppliers: staging, AV, catering, security, insurance and crew.
• Run the show on the day as the single point of decision, then write the honest post-event review.

What we're looking for

• 6+ years producing live events in Hong Kong, including at least two outdoor events over 1,500 attendees.
• Working knowledge of Hong Kong event licensing and the lead times each application actually needs.
• Native Cantonese for crew, venue and contractor management; business English for clients and international suppliers.
• Budget ownership at HK$1M+ scale with reconciliations you prepared yourself.
• A calm, specific manner under pressure — production is mostly the management of other people's panic.

Nice to have

• Green Card or construction safety training for site work.
• Certified first aid.
• Experience with ticketing platforms and on-site access control.
