About the role
Harbour Data is a data consultancy of about 110 people, more than half of whom are at a client site on any given day. We do not need a full-time IT department. We need one capable person here three days a week who owns the internal estate properly instead of five consultants half-fixing things between engagements.
The work is a mix: imaging and enrolling laptops for new joiners, running the MDM and endpoint security baseline, sorting out the client VPN that only works on alternate Tuesdays, and being the person who actually offboards someone's access on their last day rather than three weeks later.
The days are flexible — Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday suit us best, and we are open to a conversation. It is an on-site role because most of the value is being physically present when someone's machine dies an hour before a client workshop.
What you'll do
- Own laptop provisioning, imaging and asset records for a 110-person consultancy, including the client-site kit.
- Administer the MDM and endpoint security baseline across macOS and Windows fleets.
- Run joiner, mover and leaver processes with the People team — access granted on day one and removed on the last day.
- Handle day-to-day support requests in Cantonese and English, with a target of same-day resolution for anything blocking.
- Maintain office network, meeting-room AV and the VPN configurations clients hand us.
- Keep the internal knowledge base current so the simple things stop coming to you.
What we're looking for
- Three or more years in IT support or desktop support, ideally in a professional services environment.
- Confident with macOS and Windows administration, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, and an MDM platform.
- Higher diploma in information technology or equivalent, or HKDSE plus solid hands-on experience.
- Native Cantonese and business English; consultants and clients switch constantly.
- Available three fixed weekdays a week on site in Quarry Bay.
Nice to have
- Networking fundamentals and troubleshooting beyond restarting the switch.
- Scripting for automation — PowerShell, Bash or Python.
- Exposure to data protection practice under the PDPO in a client-data environment.
What you get
- MPF and medical cover from day one, pro-rated
- Pro-rated annual leave rising with service
- HK$15,000 learning budget, also pro-rated
- Fixed days with genuinely no weekend or overnight work
- Quiet office five minutes from Quarry Bay station
