About the role
Pearl Studio's social team works out of a small second office above a bakery in Causeway Bay, deliberately close to the retail clients whose stores we film in. You would be the third person there, working with a community executive and a junior editor, and reporting back to the Kwun Tong studio.
We handle four accounts: a local skincare label, a Japanese homeware retailer's Hong Kong channels, a members' gym group, and a Greater Bay Area beverage brand that posts in Simplified and Traditional. Two of them are Cantonese-first, which means the copy, the humour and the response tone all have to be yours rather than translated in.
This is not a scheduling job. The person we hire will decide what gets made, sit in the edit, and be the one who explains to a marketing director why a fifteen-second clip shot on a phone outperformed the production we spent HK$300,000 on.
What you'll do
- Own monthly content calendars for four accounts across Instagram, Threads, Xiaohongshu, YouTube Shorts and WhatsApp Channels.
- Write Cantonese-first captions and community replies with a voice that sounds like a person, not a brand handbook.
- Brief and sit with the video team on shoots and edits, including same-day social cut-downs.
- Run paid boosting within a HK$180,000 monthly pooled budget and report what it actually bought.
- Handle escalations and the occasional comment-section fire, with a documented approach agreed with each client in advance.
- Deliver a monthly performance readout that says what to do next, not just what happened.
What we're looking for
- 4+ years running branded social accounts in Hong Kong, either agency-side or in-house.
- Native Cantonese and confident written 繁體中文; business English for client reporting and Mandarin for the GBA account.
- Hands-on with Meta Business Suite, Xiaohongshu's merchant back end, and at least one social listening tool.
- Comfortable shooting and cutting rough content on a phone — you do not need a crew for everything.
- Evidence of growth you actually caused, with the reasoning behind it rather than a screenshot of a spike.
Nice to have
- KOL and micro-influencer sourcing and negotiation in the Hong Kong market.
- Experience with live commerce or shoppable video.
- Basic CapCut or Premiere editing to a publishable standard.
What you get
- Hybrid working, with Fridays from home as standard
- 15 days annual leave plus three studio wellness days
- Phone and data plan covered
- Medical cover including Chinese medicine visits
- Client product allowance — you will end up very well moisturised
