About the role
Harbour Point's Structured Solutions group designs equity-linked notes, capital-protected structures and rates overlays for institutional buyers. Distribution covers Hong Kong insurers, external asset managers, single-family offices and a growing list of mainland-headquartered asset managers with QDII allocations.
The seat is new. Our structuring capability has outgrown the sales coverage, and we need a senior seller who can hold a genuine technical conversation — someone a CIO will call on a volatile morning rather than a salesperson who forwards a term sheet and waits.
You will work hand in glove with three structurers and the trading desk, all on the same floor. Pricing turnaround on a bespoke request is measured in hours; we have deliberately kept the chain short so that sales can commit to a client in front of them.
What you'll do
- Cover a defined list of institutional accounts across Hong Kong and the region, and grow the wallet within it.
- Translate client objectives into structure ideas and brief the structuring desk precisely enough to price first time.
- Present pricing, payoff mechanics, risk scenarios and stress results in language a board can approve.
- Negotiate documentation with clients, legal and the ISDA team through to execution.
- Run post-trade dialogue — mark levels, unwind requests and restrike conversations — rather than disappearing after settlement.
- Maintain suitability and product governance records to SFC standards for every professional-investor sale.
What we're looking for
- 7+ years in structured products, derivatives or institutional markets sales in Asia.
- SFC Type 1 licence, and Type 4 where advisory dialogue is involved.
- Fluency in payoff mechanics across equity, FX and rates underlyings — you should be able to sketch the risk on a whiteboard.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics or a related discipline.
- Trilingual working ability across English, Mandarin and Cantonese for a regional client base.
Nice to have
- Existing insurer or external asset manager relationships in Hong Kong.
- CFA or FRM designation.
- Experience selling into QDII or Bond Connect flows.
What you get
- Bonus pool tied to desk revenue with a written, transparent methodology
- One remote day per week
- Premium medical for you and dependants, plus an annual executive health check
- 21 days annual leave
- Client entertainment budget that reflects how this business is actually won
