About the role
The Junction Pay graduate programme takes twelve people a year and puts them through three six-month rotations across engineering, risk and financial crime, product, operations and regulatory affairs. You pick two rotations; we assign the third, deliberately, into something you would not have chosen.
This is a small enough company that graduates do real work immediately. Last year's cohort shipped a merchant onboarding screen, rebuilt the chargeback reporting pack, and one of them found a reconciliation break worth HK$380,000 in their second month. There is no shadowing rotation and no project that gets shelved at the end.
We hire for reasoning and appetite rather than degree subject. Our current cohort read computer science, economics, translation, environmental science and law. What they share is that they were interested in how money actually moves before they applied.
What you'll do
- Complete three six-month rotations across engineering, risk, product, operations and regulatory affairs
- Own a defined deliverable in each rotation, presented to the leadership team at rotation end
- Complete the structured learning track: payments fundamentals, AML certification and data literacy in SQL
- Support your rotation team's day-to-day work from week one — no observation-only placements
- Run one cross-team improvement project during the programme with a budget and a named sponsor
- Buddy an incoming placement student in your final rotation
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree awarded between 2025 and 2027 in any discipline, with a 2:1 or equivalent
- Right to work in Hong Kong on graduation — IANG applicants are welcome and we support the application
- Business English and conversational Cantonese; Mandarin is useful for cross-border work
- Evidence of finishing something difficult, whether academic, commercial or entirely your own
- Available to start in September 2027
Nice to have
- An internship, placement or part-time role in financial services or technology
- Working SQL or Python, however self-taught
- A side project, society leadership or competition record you can talk about for ten minutes
What you get
- 13th month plus a HK$20,000 completion bonus on converting to a permanent role
- Named mentor plus a senior sponsor from the leadership team for the full eighteen months
- AML certification and data training fully funded
- 20 days annual leave, medical and dental from day one
- Visa sponsorship and IANG support for eligible graduates
