Warehouse Supervisor (Night Shift)

About the role

The Tuen Mun distribution centre is 280,000 square feet of ambient and chilled storage serving supermarket and pharmacy chains. Nothing about the day shift works unless the night shift does its job, because store orders are picked overnight and the trucks pull out at 06:30 for the first drop.

We need a supervisor who has actually run a floor. You will take the handover at 22:00, allocate 34 permanent staff and any agency headcount across picking, replenishment and loading, and be the person who decides what gets deferred when a wave runs late. The DC Manager is on call, but on the night shift the floor is yours.

Our current night supervisor is moving to the day shift after four years, so you will have a proper handover and a team that already knows the drill. What we want from you is fewer picking errors and a safer floor — our forklift near-miss count is higher than it should be.

What you'll do

• Take handover, plan the wave, and allocate 30-40 staff across picking, replenishment, VAS and loading
• Drive shift KPIs — lines per hour, pick accuracy, dock-to-stock time, on-time trailer departure
• Enforce MHE safety: forklift licence checks, pedestrian segregation, near-miss reporting before end of shift
• Investigate stock discrepancies overnight and clear the exception queue in the WMS before day shift arrives
• Coach and appraise the team; manage attendance, rest days and agency top-up requests
• Write a clean shift report and hand over open issues to the day supervisor at 07:00
• Support quarterly stocktakes and customer site visits

What we're looking for

• Diploma or above in Logistics, or equivalent experience running a warehouse floor
• 6+ years in warehouse operations with at least 2 supervising a team of 20 or more
• Valid forklift operator licence and a solid grasp of the Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance (Cap. 509)
• Hands-on WMS experience — you can read the exception queue, not just print reports
• Willing to commit to a permanent night roster: 5 nights on, 2 off

Nice to have

• Chilled or temperature-controlled warehousing background
• Green Card (Construction Safety Training) or a workplace safety supervisor certificate
• Experience introducing voice picking or RF scanning to an existing team
