About the role
Most enterprise infrastructure software is designed as if the user were sitting comfortably. Ours is not: a duty manager at an insurer approves a production change from the MTR, an ops engineer checks a cutover on a phone with one bar of signal, and both of them are reading Traditional Chinese while the underlying system speaks English.
The design studio is three people and it sits inside engineering rather than beside it. This role is focused on the console and the mobile approvals app — the two surfaces where our customers' own staff, not just their engineers, touch CloudPeak.
You will be given real access: customer site visits, recordings of change windows, and a front-end team that will build what you design properly. In return we expect design decisions you can defend with something other than taste.
What you'll do
- Own the end-to-end design of the change-approval journey across web and mobile, from notification to audit record.
- Run discovery with customer operations teams — site visits, observed change windows, and interviews conducted in Cantonese.
- Design for Traditional Chinese first and English second, and prove the layouts survive both.
- Extend the shared design system in Figma, including the tokens the front-end team consumes directly.
- Prototype and test flows with real duty managers before a line of production code is written.
- Work with the technical writer so that interface copy and documentation say the same thing in the same voice.
What we're looking for
- Four or more years designing digital products, with at least one complex tool or dashboard in your portfolio.
- Fluency in Figma, including components, variables and hand-off that engineers do not have to reverse-engineer.
- Demonstrable research practice — you have run sessions yourself, not just read a summary deck.
- Business-level Cantonese and English; discovery sessions run in Cantonese, documentation in English.
- A portfolio that shows the reasoning, not only the final screens.
Nice to have
- Experience designing for mobile in Traditional Chinese.
- Familiarity with cloud or infrastructure products.
- Accessibility work you can point to.
What you get
- Hardware and software of your choice, including a Figma seat and plugins
- Medical and dental cover for you and your family
- MPF employer top-up to 9%
- 20 days annual leave, rising to 25
- HK$20,000 learning and conference budget
