CloudPeak Systems has been building infrastructure for Hong Kong enterprises since 2008, when it was a four-person consultancy racking servers in a Tsuen Wan data centre. It rebuilt itself around cloud in 2015 and now runs platform engineering, managed Kubernetes and regulated-workload migration for banks, insurers, hospitals and the public sector.
The work is unusually demanding because the customers are unusually constrained: data residency, HKMA and HKIA supervisory expectations, change windows measured in hours, and auditors who read your Terraform. CloudPeak's answer has been to build reusable landing zones and an internal developer platform that customers adopt wholesale, which turned a services business into something closer to a product company.
Based at Science Park with a second office in Kwun Tong, the company is around 380 people and growing steadily. It is engineer-led — the CTO still reviews architecture for every regulated migration — and it invests heavily in certification because customers ask for it and because engineers want it.
